Roy Keane paid tribute to his mother Marie after her death, aged 79.

Marie Keane died at Marymount Hospice in her native Cork on Friday.

Keane shared a photograph of himself with his mother, who was sitting with a blanket which appeared to feature photos of her children and grandchildren.

The Manchester United legend captioned the photo: "You'll always be the boss."

Keane, 54, previously called Marie "the only boss I listen to".

The Corkman was very close to his parents. His father Maurice, Mossie, Keane died in 2019, aged 79.

Keane's former teammates Gary Neville, David Beckham and Robbie Keane were among those to share their condolences on the post.
