Wexford manager Keith Rossiter admits their chances of being promoted to Division One A of the Hurling League have probably slipped away.

Eight points from Peter Duggan helped 2024 All-Ireland champions Clare to overcome Wexford by 26-points to 1-20 in Ennis on Sunday afternoon.

That Clare victory has left the second promotion spot firmly in Dublin's hands; they will go up if they win at Carlow in two weeks.

Rossiter says playing in the second-flight has not been a bad thing, as he looks to build a new panel.

Kildare have preserved their Division One B status with a 3-22 to 1-19 victory over Carlow.

Daire Guerin, Cathal McCabe, and Muiris Curtin scored the goals for the Joe McDonagh Cup champions.

Laois sealed their return to Division One B with a 17-point win over Meath in Portlaoise.

Mossy Keyes sent over five points as Tommy Fitzgerald's side got a 28-point to 11 victory to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Kerry moved up to second with a 6-24 to 15-point rout of Mayo, where Oisin Maunsell hit two goals.

Meanwhile, David Williams scored 1-10 as Westmeath edged out Derry by 1-20 to 3-13 in Mullingar.
