Ger Nash steps down as manager of Cork City

Cork City have been left reeling with the news that manager Ger Nash is stepping down with immediate effect.
The 39-year-old arrived at Turner's Cross in May, following the departure of men's boss Tim Clancy.
Nash was unable to prevent City's eventual relegation from the Premier Division this season.
However, they did reach the FAI Cup final, where they were defeated by Shamrock Rovers.
Nash had previously insisted his aim was to lead the club back to the Premier Division in 2026 and they recently signed striker Hans Mpongo from Finn Harps in an effort to do so.
In a statement, Cork City said: "Cork City FC has been informed by men’s first team manager Ger Nash of his decision to step down from the role, with immediate effect.
"The club would like to thank Ger for his efforts throughout the 2025 season.
"Ger Nash has indicated to the club that the decision was made for personal reasons.
"The search for a new manager will begin immediately."
