Kilkenny champions Ballyhale Shamrocks are through to the Leinster hurling final after they edged out Clough Ballacolla of Laois by 1-18 to 1-15 in their semi-final.

Willie Hyland stepped down as Clough Ballacolla manager following that defeat.

TJ Reid scored 10 points for the Kilkenny side, with Niall Shorthall scoring their goal as they were pushed all the way by the Laois side.

Stephen Bergin scored six points for Clough Ballacolla, who were one point behind with four minutes remaining, with points from Reid and Eoin Cody securing victory.

Ballyhale will face St Martin's who were 0-21 to 0-11 winners over Naas.

The Wexford side were comfortable throughout, with Rory O'Connor scoring 14 points.

In football, Dingle cruised into th Munster football final with a 2-15 to 0-2 win over Mungret St Pauls.

Conor Geaney scored 2-2 for the Kerry side, who were 2-12 to no score up after 45 minutes.

They will face Cork champions St Finbarrs, who were 3-20 to 0-14 winners of Clare's Éire Óg Inis.

Brian Hayes was the hero for the Cork side as he scored 3-3 from midfield.

Kilcoo will have to wait a little longer to discover their opponents for this year's Ulster football final.

Sunday's semi final between Scotstown and Newbridge was called off at half time due to an unplayable pitch in Omagh.

Scotstown had been leading 1-4 to three points when the game was abandoned.
