Over 550 patients waiting on a bed in hospitals across Ireland

556 admitted patients are on hospital trolleys across the country on Monday.

344 are in emergency departments, while 212 are in wards elsewhere, according to INMO figures.

University Hospital Limerick has the most people waiting for beds, with 100, with 28 in the emergency department and 72 elsewhere on the ward.

This is followed by St. Vincent's with 64, with 50 in the emergency department and 14 elsewhere on the ward.

Hospitals with the lowest figures include Beaumont Hospital, with 14 in the emergency department, and Cavan General Hospital, with seven in the emergency department.
