Man (30s) in critical condition following assault in Dublin

A man is in a critical condition after he was assaulted on Foley Street in Dublin on Monday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 pm.
The man in his 30s was taken to The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital at 2:00 am to be treated for serious injuries, and he remains in a critical condition.
A man in his 30s has since been arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Dublin.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the vicinity of Foley Street, Talbot Street and James Joyce Street between 11:30 pm and 2 am on the night of Monday, 6th July into the morning of Tuesday 7th July and who may have camera footage - including dash-cam footage - is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
