A man has died after a motorcycle crash in a road race in Skerries, Co Dublin, on Sunday.

The single motorcycle crash happened shortly before 12:00 pm at Duke’s Bend, Baldongan.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Coroner has been notified.

In a statement shared on social media, the Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club, which organises the race, said: “A competitor has sadly passed away following a tragic accident that occurred during a race which took place today.”
