A vehicle and mobile phones were among a number of items seized by PSNI detectives investigating a car bomb attack on a police station in Co Antrim earlier this year.

A delivery driver was hijacked and a device placed in his car before he was ordered to drive to Dunmurry police station on Saturday April 25th.

The car exploded outside the station as people were being evacuated.

Nobody was injured in the incident which sparked widespread condemnation.

In a statement the PSNI said detectives carried out further searches in west Belfast on Friday and were assisted by officers from Local Policing and Operational Support.

“A vehicle and a number of items, including mobile phones, were seized,” the statement said.

“Inquiries are ongoing, and police have reiterated their appeal for anyone with information to contact them on 101.”

“Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted, with 100% anonymity, on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”
