A man has been left in a serious condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Mulhuddart, Dublin, in the early hours of Friday.

The incident happened at Parslickstown Drive at approximately 3:55 am.

The man in his 40s was conveyed to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He remains in critical condition.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information in relation to this incident or who may have video footage (including dash-cam) who were in the area of Parslickstown, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 between 3:00 am and 4:30 am on Friday.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
