Met Éireann has issued a thunderstorm warning for Dublin, Meath and Kildare on Wednesday.

The warning has been in place since 1:52 on Wednesday and is in place until 4 pm.

Met Éireann has warned of lightning damage, spot flooding, and gusty conditions.

There is also a chance of hail on Wednesday, with some sunny spells in between the showers.

It will continue to be windy, with highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees.

Wednesday night will see further showers or longer spells of rain. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.

Thursday will be cool and blustery with widespread showers, merging into longer spells of rain at times.

The showers will become less frequent later in the day, and more in the way of sunny spells will develop. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees with fresh and gusty westerly winds.

Friday will be a mix of well-scattered showers and sunny spells at first.

Cloud will build from the southwest through the afternoon with rain following and spreading into much of the south and west through the evening.

Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in light to moderate south to southwest winds.

The rain on Saturday will gradually clear northeastwards through the afternoon with some sunny spells following. However, some scattered showers will follow from the west later too. Highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees.
