A man has been rushed to hospital after he suffered a stab wound during an incident at a house in Limerick on Sunday morning.

The man, in his 30s, sustained at least one stab wound to the side of his abdomen.

The man was found injured at a house in the Carew Park area of the city shortly before 11am on Sunday.

He was rushed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where he was in a stable condition.

“Shortly after 10:30am, on Sunday 25th January 2026, Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident at a residential property in the John Carew Park area of Limerick,” said a Garda spokesperson.

“A man in his 30s was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.”

“His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The scene is preserved for examination, and inquiries are ongoing.”
