Police investigating the death of 43-year-old Wayne Reid have been granted a court extension to continue questioning a man arrested on suspicion of murder.

Mr Reid was pronounced dead at an address in the Society Court area of Coleraine.

On Friday, police were granted an extension of 36 hours in relation to a 33-year-old man who had been arrested on Wednesday.

Police have said they believe Mr Reid may have been involved in an altercation, sometime between Thursday January 8 and Saturday January 10 in the Society Court or Society Street areas of Coleraine.

On Thursday police were also searching an apartment building in relation to the incident.
