Fiosrú is independently investigating a fatal road traffic incident after An Garda Síochána referred the case to it on December 8th.

The incident involved the death of a 75-year-old man.

Fiosrú is appealing to any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

In a statement, the Office of the Police Ombudsman (Fiosrú) said: "Fiosrú would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the N11, Foxrock, near the Junction of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock at approximately 6:45pm on Monday, 8th December 2025, or any passing vehicles, including taxis that may have dashcam footage from that location and /or on a mobile device.

"Anyone with information which may be of assistance to this independent investigation is asked to contact Fiosrú at 0818 600 800 or info@fiosrú.ie."
