A woman in her 80s has died in a crash in Co Tipperary.

It happened in Toomevara, Nenagh, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

One car was involved in the incident between 12am and 2:20a.m.

The woman, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road remains closed at the scene, which is preserved pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
