Shamrock Rovers are SSE Airtricity League Premier Division champions for the 22nd time.

They collected the trophy after suffering a 2-1 defeat on the final day to Sligo Rovers.

That result for the visitors meant they are guaranteed to stay up at the expense of Waterford.

The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by Galway United and will now face the relegation playoff.

Derry City's 1-0 win over already down Cork City secured second place for them.

Shelbourne finish the year in third despite a 0-0 draw with St Pats and Bohemians went above the Saints into fourth thanks to a 4-1 victory away at Drogheda United.
