Two men arrested (20s) in connection with alleged money laundering

Gardaí have arrested two men in connection with alleged money laundering in Dublin and Louth.

On Saturday, gardaí intercepted a vehicle shortly before 9:00 pm in North County Dublin.

In addition, searches were carried out at two residential properties and one business premises located in Dublin and Louth.

During the course of the operation, gardaí recovered £185,000 (approximately €213,000) and €48,700 in cash, along with several mobile phones.

Two men, aged in their 20s, were arrested under Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 for allegedly facilitating money laundering activities on behalf of an organised crime group.

They are currently being held at a Dublin Garda Station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Gardaí say Investigations are ongoing.
