A motorcyclist has died following a road collision in Co Tipperary.

The man, aged in his 70s, was riding a motorcycle, which was involved in a collision with a van on Sunday morning.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for information around the incident on the N24 at Cahir, at approximately 11.05am.

They said the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported at the time.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.

“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them,” they said in a statement.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10.45am and 11.15am this morning, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Cahir Garda Station on (052) 7445630, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
