Gardaí are investigating after the body of an unidentified man was discovered at Spencer Bridge in Dublin 1.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following the discovery in the north inner city on Tuesday afternoon, August 26th.

The coroner has been notified, and the body was removed from the scene and taken to Dublin City Mortuary at Whitehall for a post-mortem examination to be carried out.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who has recently been in the Spencer Dock/Guild Street area and may have information to offer regarding the incident to make contact with investigating gardaí.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

It is understood that foul play is currently not suspected.
