A teenager who died in a collision involving a car and a scrambler in Dublin has been named locally as Jason Monks.

Family and friends have paid tribute to the young father of one on social media.

The crash took place on Citywest Avenue at about 8pm on Easter Sunday.

Mr Monks, who was driving the scrambler motorbike, was taken to Tallaght Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No other injuries were reported.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in due course.

A technical examination of the scene has been carried out by garda forensic collision investigators and the road has been reopened.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses and people with footage related to the incident to come forward.
