Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged as EV costs drop

Petrol and diesel prices have remained steady for March, the latest AA Ireland Fuel Survey has shown.

Petrol remains unchanged at an average of €1.80 per litre, with diesel remaining at an average of €1.77 per litre.

However, the cost of running an Electric Vehicle drops by three cents in the last month.

Elena Leao, Marketing & PR at AA Ireland, commented, "Stable fuel prices may offer some relief for motorists, but with ongoing cost-of-living pressures, it’s always worth finding ways to stretch every euro at the pump.

"Simple habits like anticipating traffic flow to avoid harsh braking and acceleration and ensuring your vehicle is serviced regularly can make a real difference over time.

"The decrease in EV running costs is welcome news. As more drivers make the switch to electric, understanding charging plans and maximising off-peak rates can result in even greater savings."
