The case of Paul Byrne (52), who is accused of assaulting a woman in 2022, was mentioned briefly in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on Tuesday.

Byrne, with an address at Newport Street, Dublin 8, has not yet entered a plea, but a trial date of June 10th, 2026, was set following an application by the defence.

He had been charged in the District Court with three counts of assault causing harm to a woman on dates between September 2017 and May 2022.

Defence counsel told the court that the trial is expected to last four days.
