Man seriously assaulted in east Belfast

A man has been taken to hospital after being seriously assaulted in east Belfast on Wednesday evening.

The PSNI received a report of an assault in the Templemore Street area just before 8pm on Wednesday.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital to be treated.

Officers remain at the scene, carrying out inquiries.
