Four men will appear in court on Thursday in connection with the robbery of a shop in Galway.

It happened at the Liosbán Industrial Estate at around 5pm yesterday evening, when three men forced their way into the staff area and attempted to take stock.

The vehicle used to flee the scene was intercepted by Gardaí a short distance away from the premises and four men in their 20s were arrested.

They were detained at a garda station in Co Galway under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

They have since been charged and are to appear before Galway District Court this morning at 10.30am.
