New police appeal over road crash which killed father and son

Police have made a new appeal for information about a road crash in Co Armagh over the Christmas period in which a father and son were killed.
Peter Devlin and his son Loughlin were killed in the two-car crash outside Killylea in Co Armagh on the afternoon of December 27.
A woman who was seriously injured in the crash remains in hospital.
One man has already appeared in court charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving

PSNI Inspector Cherith Adair said: “As part of our ongoing investigations, we would like to speak with the occupants of a white or light coloured Nissan Qashqai SUV type vehicle or similar travelling toward Killylea from the direction of Armagh at approximately 12:40pm on Friday December 27 2024.
“We would also like to speak with a male and female, who were occupants of a dark-coloured people carrier type vehicle, who stopped at the scene.
“We believe these people have important information that may be able to assist with our inquiries.”
Ivan Petrov, 32, a Bulgarian national with no permanent address in Northern Ireland, appeared before Newry Magistrates’ Court earlier this month.
The court heard that the defendant is diabetic and the last thing he remembers before the crash was feeling that his blood sugar was low.
Petrov suffered rib and arm fractures in the crash between his Audi and a Mercedes.
Loughlin Devlin, who was driving the Mercedes, and his father Peter Devlin, who was a rear-seat passenger, died at the scene of the crash.
Ursula Devlin, Peter’s wife and Loughlin’s mother, who was also in the rear-seat of the Mercedes, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Another woman and a baby boy were injured in the incident but have since been released from hospital.
