A teenage boy is in hospital following an alleged assault in Waterford City on Sunday evening.

The incident happened in Ballybeg between 5:30pm and 6:30pm.

A male aged in his late teens was conveyed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

Gardaí say enquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between 5pm and 6.30pm are to make this footage available to gardaí.
