Cork Airport's runway has closed due to adverse weather and Dublin Airport is accepting diversions from there.

Passengers travelling by plane should check with their airline before departing.

In the UK, a number of airports were forced to close last night and this morning due to snowfall.

Cork Airport said: "A moderate level of snow has fallen within the last hour. Our snow and ice teams are currently in the process of clearing the runway and taxiways. As a result, there will be some disruption to arriving and departing services.

Passengers seeking flight information should contact their airline or refer to their airline website/mobile app for the most up-to-date information."

Cork remains under a status orange snow and ice warning until 5pm this evening.
