Gardaí release images of 99 'persons of interests' connected to Dublin riots

Gardaí have released 99 photographs of ‘persons of interest’ they wish to speak to from the Dublin riots last year.

The 99 photographs were published on Tuesday morning on the force’s official website.

Gardaí have said to progress the criminal investigative process, they need to identify each of these ‘Persons of Interest’ and interview each to either rule each individual ‘in or out’ of the investigative process.

Members of the public can provide information/ nominate identification for any of the 99 ‘persons of interest’ through the Garda website.

Gardaí also encourage anyone who identifies themselves as a ‘person of interest’ from the published images to make immediate contact with the Garda investigation team at Store Street Garda Station.

Over 17,000 hours of CCTV footage was also retrieved by gardaí.

To date, 57 people have been arrested in connection with public order incidents connected to the Dublin riots, with those suspects convicted or facing a total of 134 charges.

To date, 14 of the suspects have been convicted.

On the night of the riots on November 23rd, 66 premises  were subject to criminal damage, with 13 gardaí injured.

28 vehicles were also damaged on the night of the riots, including a Luas destroyed by fire, three Dublin Buses destroyed by fire, six Dublin Buses subject to criminal damage, 15 Garda vehicles subject to criminal damage.

The night of the riots were sparked by the stabbing of children in a north inner city school for which a man has been charged and appeared before the courts.
