A woman has been left with serious injuries after she was attacked by a number of dogs in Co Dublin.

Gardaí were alerted by emergency services to the incident at a residence in Dún Laoghaire on Thursday afternoon.

She was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are understood to be serious.

Gardaí said the dogs were now in the custody of the dog warden, and investigations were ongoing.
