A man has been arrested after stolen motorbikes were seized during a search in west Dublin.

A planned search of a property in the Blanchardstown area was carried out by gardaí on Wednesday under a warrant.

Five motorbikes were recovered, four of which have been confirmed as stolen in Dublin, Kildare and Meath in recent months.

The search forms part of investigations into organised crime and involves gardaí from Cabra and Blanchardstown Garda stations.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested in connection with the investigation and is being detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardai are attempting to find the owner of the fifth motorbike, a red Honda CR Series off-road motorcycle.

Anyone who believes they are the owner of this vehicle is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000.
