The old Central Bank HQ in Dublin finally reopens its doors today as the new flagship location for WeWork.

It comes six years after the flexible workspace giant agreed to occupy the building.

The landmark Dame Street building, that has been empty since it was sold off in 2017, underwent a €100 million refurbishment.

Members of WeWork will have access to 1,500 desks over eight floors that can be booked by the hour or day.

The flagship location features office suites and conference rooms for collaborative work, as well as bookable office space and phone booths for heads-down tasks.

The company leased the 1970s building back in 2018 before it underwent redevelopment that includes a mix of offices, shops, restaurants and a two-story rooftop venue with 360-degree views of the city.

Krispy Kreme was the first business to open its doors at One Central Plaza in 2022.

Ben Samuels, chief revenue officer at WeWork said: "We're thrilled to be opening our doors to the distinguished One Central Plaza in Dublin, a burgeoning business hub and a key market for us. This opening marks a significant moment for WeWork as we enter a new phase for the company – putting our best foot forward with our strongest locations globally.

"As more companies look to incorporate flexible workspace into their portfolio, WeWork continues to cement its position as a go-to partner to power workplace strategies that marry business and employee needs. I’m confident that WeWork One Central Plaza will be a top choice for scaling businesses prioritising well-designed space with first-class amenities in a prime location.”

WeWork has four locations in Dublin – Charlemont Exchange, 2 Dublin landings, Central Plaza and Iveagh Court.
