What the papers say: Wednesday's front pages

Reaction to Budget 2024 dominates the front pages in Wednesday's papers.

The Irish Times leads with tax cuts and increases to welfare payments that was announced in Tuesday's budget.

The Irish Examiner also focusses on the tax breaks that were announced in the budget. The front page also leads with a man who was arrested over the disappearance of Tina Satchwell.

The Echo leads with a picture of a man in a pub watching the budget, as he watches his local TD Michael McGrath announce what's included in Budget 2024.

The Irish Daily Mail leads with comments from Sinn Féin TD Rose Conway Walsh on the tax cuts announced in the budget. The paper also leads with Holly Willoughby's departure from This Morning.

Both the Irish Daily Mirror and the Irish Daily Star lead with the arrest in connection to the disappearance of Tina Satchwell.

Another intense day of conflict between Hamas rebels and Israel again dominates the front pages of Wednesday’s newspapers.

‘Horror’, ‘massacre’ and ‘pure evil’ are among the headlines as The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The Guardian, The Times, Daily Mail and Daily Express all concentrate on the human cost of the conflict.

The Financial Times kept its eyes locked on Israel as the at-war nation prepares to recover ground from opposing rebels in a soon-to-occur strike back.

For something rather different, the Daily Mirror concentrates on Sir Keir Starmer’s speech at the Labour conference in Liverpool where he copped a faceful of sparkles.

And the Daily Star tells us all to “get a shroom” with some rather powerful fungi.
