Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd and his wife Hanni Treweek have welcomed their first child.

The couple revealed they are parents to a daughter named Constance Ita Shepherd born on June 26th.

In a post on Instagram, the couple shared photos of the baby’s hand holding onto theirs.

Only a little bit of the side of the newborn’s head and ear is visible in the image.

The captioned the photo: “Our beautiful baby girl has arrived, born peacefully at home, surrounded by love.”

Shepherd is best known for his role as David Platt in the ITV soap since 2000. Many of his co-stars including Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby) and Sam Aston (Chesney Brown) offered their congratulations.

Danson wrote: “Congratulations- gorgeous news,” while Taylor said: “Oh darling! So thrilled for you both and what a beautiful name xxx.”

Aston commented: “Wonderful news! Congratulations guys, born at home aswell.”

Sally Dynevor, best known as Sally Metcalfe, wrote: “Oh wonderful so happy for you, what a beautiful name. Lots of love to you all xxxx”

The couple got married in Manchester Cathedral in July 2025.

In a post after their wedding, Treweek wrote on Instagram: “Introducing Mr & Mrs Shepherd.

“Words cannot describe how beautiful yesterday was for us – it was more than perfect.

“The love & energy in the room (and outside) was incredible – our hearts are truly full.

“Thank you so much to you all – it means the world to us. Love is all you need x”
