Pixie Lott has explained she uses social media to “make big decisions” about releasing music.

The British singer, 35, has reflected on how the music industry has changed since she first rose to fame with her debut album Turn It Up 17 years ago.

Speaking to the Press Association about how she hopes to make another album soon, Lott explained how she uses fans’ reactions on social media when working on new music.

“I still want to make albums, but the music business definitely has changed a lot since I first started out,” she said.

“It is really fun that you have the freedom to release new music once you have finished it, written it, and have more of a frequent release schedule.

“Then you can really work with social media to find out what people are connecting with the most, and kind of work alongside them to help make big decisions.”

Lott rose to fame in 2019 with her debut album, which reached number six on the UK albums chart and sold more than 1.5 million copies.

It also had six consecutive top 20 singles on the UK singles chart including two number one singles, Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) and Boys And Girls.

The star took a decade-long break from releasing music before eventually returning in 2024 with her latest studio album Encino, and she told the Press Association she hopes to release more new music soon.

Lott said: “I want to keep up the trajectory and not let it be a 10-year gap again.”

Her latest single, Good Wife, was released earlier this year and explores the notion of being a woman in modern society.

Reflecting on her inspiration behind the track, Lott said: “I have just been really writing stuff that is real and true to me, and about my stage of life at the moment.

“That’s what Good Wife is about. I just want to make stuff that hopefully people can relate to, or anyone going through kind of similar situations.”

The mother-of-two added: “I was pregnant when I wrote the song and it is about the complete juggle of life.

“For me, it is about being a mum, working, doing festivals, juggling my friendships, my family commitments, my admin, my house… you know, every box that you have to try and tick.

“It is just hard to get the balance and I think everyone in 2026, whether you’re a parent or not, there is so much juggling going on with everything that we have to do in a day and sometimes it is quite a lot.”

The singer also teased she will be testing her latest track this weekend at the Ben and Jerry’s Sundaes In The Park festival on Saturday.

Lott said: “We literally only just finished it like last week. It is a really fun song for the summer.

“I just feel like it’s a good time to put it out, and when I asked on my Insta stories, what song they wanted to hear next, everyone said ‘party party’, so I have got to give them what they want.”

All proceeds of tickets for the event, which is being held at Chiswick House & Gardens, will also go directly to organisations supporting refugees and people seeking asylum.
