Airport police responded to an incident at Terminal 1 after a man missed his flight and caused damage to a gate.

Gardaí are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles that occurred on the R600 at Coolcarron, Belgooly in Co Cork 5:30pm on Monday evening.

A bid by the two airlines to pin the blame for the accident on Dublin airport operator DAA was thrown out

A spokesperson for TUI apologised for the delay but said it had 'kept passengers updated and provided overnight accommodation, meals and refreshments'
