Jay Electronica reveals rare Cork show

Musician Jay Electronica plays Cyprus Avenue in September.

One of hip hop's most experimental artists, Jay Electronica doesn't hit the road that often, making his September 13th gig a special occasion.

The New Orlean's artist is now flying high after signing to Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation, it's been a big change in fortune for the singer who once slept on the streets and trains of the American city.

With an album rumoured to be completed and ready for release, his presence online has been littered with big-hitting tracks for a decade.

His music strikes a nerve, whether it's the surreal and 15-minute long track 'Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge)', or his two official released singles 'Exhibit A' and 'Exhibit C', Jay Electronica's date at Cyprus Avenue will be a special night.

Tickets are €20 and on sale now from the Old Oak on Oliver Plunkett Street or online via www.cyprusavenue.ie.
