Blackrock legend Wayne Sherlock is set to be appointed as the new manager of the club's senior hurling team.
According to the Irish Examiner, the 48-year-old will be the man chosen to succeed Jamie Harrington, who stepped down after the club's Co-op SuperStores Premier SHC campaign ended in September.
It will be Sherlock's first time to serve as a manager at adult level. The three-time All-Ireland winner has experience in a number of under-age roles in the club and was a selector in 2017 when they reached a first senior final in 15 years, while he was also part of Pat Ryan's set-ups at U20 and senior level for Cork.
During that period, the county ended a wait of more than two decades for an U21/U20 title before going back-to-back in that grade while Cork reached two All-Ireland senior finals under Ryan, winning Munster in 2025.
The Rockies won their first two games of the 2026 championship but defeat to Kanturk in their last group match meant they exit the competition on scoring difference.
