Rylane Boxing Club is the longest established club in the county of Cork, and they will promote a very attractive tournament where a Rylane selection will take on a very powerful Garda and Defence forces team.
The proceeds of this tournament are going to the Marymount Hospice which is an outstanding facility to assist cancer patients and is well worthy of the public's support.
Founder member of the club, which was established in 1979, Dan Lane said he was looking forward to the event.

“We are delighted to organise this event to help Marymount in some small way.
"We have a great boxing bill lined up for the night and the public will get great value for money on a night of non-stop action, between the ropes."
Rylane will have many top-class boxers in action and the club will be richly enhanced by some very prominent Cork boxers who will guest with the Rylane Boxing Club on the night.
Lane is very conscious of the role played by the Marymount movement in Cork and said they are delighted to help Marymount in any way they can.
“Cancer is part of all our lives every day of the week and every family at one stage or another are affected by this.
"The people of Cork are very fortunate to have a facility such as Marymount on our doorstep, and these people provide love, care and compassion for their patients, while also providing a support service to their families.”
Lane heads up a club who are now 46 years on the road, and during that period, the club has provided many outstanding boxing athletes.
Over the years they have taken on many a Garda selection in the ring, and they have always proven to be great memorable sporting occasions for all those who have seen or taken part in them.
The Garda team on Friday night will be led by manager Larry Morrison.
Larry has always been a very welcome visitor to Cork.
He is a man who has done outstanding work for the IABA over many years and has enjoyed a long friendship with Dan Lane.
In conclusion, Dan Lane appealed to the public to support the event.
"I am appealing to the public to support this truly worthy cause, and patrons will simultaneously enjoy a great night’s action.”`
Meanwhile, on Saturday, in Ballincollig, Muskerry Boxing Club are pleased to announce that they will host an exciting boxing tournament in Coláiste Choilm.
The club extends it sincere thanks to Daithi O'Gallchoir and the school to their generous support for making the event possible.
Muskerry Boxing Club has been serving the area for more than 12 years and continues to grow from strength to strength.
This success would not be possible without the dedication of its coaches and volunteers, who generously give of their time week after week.
The club welcomes members from as young as seven years of age up to 40, with a strong mix of both male and female boxers.

Training currently places particular emphasis on the club's youngest members, aged 7 to 10 and this investment in underage boxing is beginning to show clear results.
The club's senior boxers are also in intensive preparation for the National Senior Championships, which will be held in Dublin in November.
Last year proved highly successful for the Muskerry club, with boxers bringing home county, Munster and national titles.
The club also enjoyed international success at the International Box Cup in Portimão, Portugal.
This was a very prestigious event and featured more than 300 clubs and 1,000 boxers.
Muskerry Boxing Club was named the best club for the second time in three years - a remarkable achievement for the Ballincollig based club.
Head coach at the club Tom Murray was recently appointed a director of the IABA, which last year had its name rebranded to Boxing Ireland. Murray is a very experienced businessman, a former boxer, and a national coach of long standing.
Murray has a lot to offer to boxing authorities in Ireland and his participation and contribution will be of great benefit to enhance the sport at national level.
Meanwhile, a first-class boxing tournament will take place in Ballincollig on Saturday, spectators of all ages are warmly welcome, and the club promises an enjoyable afternoon of competitive boxing for the local community.
Elsewhere, on Saturday last, an outstanding boxing tournament took place at the Na Piarsaigh GAA Complex where Cork took on Louth.
This was a big charity event and proved to be a great success.
Louth were led by the national president Anto Donnelly and were successful on the day defeating a very good Cork team after many outstanding bouts.
To make this day the huge success it was, the officers of the Cork County Boxing Board did some fantastic work and were helped by many other volunteers, who gave of their time willingly for a great cause.
Congratulations to all on a job very well done.
