Doolan’s raise the steaks with win over Helio in Mooney Cup

If the consensus of opinion was that five time Mooney Cup winners Doolan’s Cow would be handing the mantle over to the new kings on the block, Helio Inter Cork, then Doolan’s hadn’t quite read the script following their sparkling win at Rockenham last Sunday afternoon.
The Cow raced into a 4-1 lead by the 34th minute courtesy of goals from Jamie Murphy (2), Aaron Hennessy and Jamie O’Donovan, Sergio Castana replying for the visitors.
Helio rallied in the second 45 with goals from Alejandro Perez and Ruben Sarasa but Doolan’s finished on a high with further goals from Hennessy and Shaun Teegan.

First division Ballyphehane had to come from behind to topple fancied Arc Rovers on their home patch of James Kenneally Sports Centre.
After Paudie Cotter gave the hosts a 16th minute lead, Celtic had to wait till ten minutes from time to draw level through fine combination play from subs Conor Callaghan and Chris Bowen, Bowen applying the finishing touch.
Matias Ayala popped up with a spectacular 90th minute winner for Celtic.

Abbey Business kept their hopes of cup success alive when they knocked MHS at a damp Corinthians Park last Thursday night.
Two goals inside three first half minutes from Rory Kelly, set up by Philip Horan, and Horan himself rocked the visitors who responded with an Aaron Cooney penalty within seven minutes.
The evergreen John McLoughlin added a third in the 58th minute to keep Abbey on track for a possible league and cup double.

A Valerio De Simone hat-trick wax the highlight of the tie at Gortnaglough Community Park, the hosts going three up, Conor O’Halloran opening the scoring in the 10th minute, before Luke Bermingham pulled one back in the 48th minute.

Second division Valley Rangers trailed premier opponents DoMa Giants three-nil at Conna Community Centre before making a game of it with two second half goals from John Noonan.
Early first half goals from Kaique Capecci and Rafael Felippe Machado followed by a killer third from Augusto Felipe Ramos sealed the visitor’s passage to the last eight.

OBS missed out on the opportunity to go top after the win eased the visitor’s relegation worries following a bright start which yielded goals from Daniel Jaouhari and Marcos Antonio Andreao in the 12th and 32nd minutes respectively.
After Niall O’Brien reduced the deficit two minutes later, Jaouhari restored Trust’s two goal lead five minutes into the second half.
The irresistible O’Brien quickly grabbed two more, the second a penalty on the hour mark, to tie up the contest for the first time.
However, Tom Frawley’s charges secured the points with late goals from Luciano Carlos Da Silva and Kaleb Sheerin Maguire.

Dripsey needed an added time equalizer from Ciaran Pittorino with secure a point after the visitors led 3-1 at the break following goals from Michael Matson, Jack Murphy and a penalty from Callan Dempsey who broke the ‘White Andy Cole’s (Maurice O’Keeffe) divisional record with his 70th goal.
Stephen O’Brien and Pittorino scored in each half for the hosts.
