Division 1 reports:

Uibh Laoire will be playing in the McCarthy Insurance Group Division 1 Football League in 2027 on what was the penultimate round of fixtures on Leeside.

It’s an incredible achievement for the Muskerry club, who have come a long way since competing at Junior A level in the 2020 season — it's now three league promotions on the trot.

In Division 1, there were wins for Douglas, Éire Óg, Carbery Rangers, Knocknagree and Nemo Rangers, with reports on those games attached to the start of this article.

Uibh Laoire, who lost last year’s McCarthy Insurance Group PIFC final to Aghabullogue, defeated Dohenys at home on a scoreline of 4-16 to 2-18 to secure promotion from Division 2. They now sit on 14 points from eight games.

Cathal Vaughan finished with 0-11 for the winners, while Ian Jones – brother of Chris Óg – hit a hat‑trick and Seán Riordan supplied the other goal.

It’s a tough defeat for Dohenys, who remain on nine points and are two behind second-placed Carrigaline. The latter proved far too strong for a depleted Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh outfit, winning 0-27 to 0-10 in Carrigaline. Niall Coakley, Ryan Delaney, Eoghan Landers and Seán Andrews were among the two-point scorers.

Clyda Rovers remain firmly in the hunt for that second promotion spot after their 0-17 to 0-13 victory over St Michael’s in Mourneabbey. They are level with Carrigaline with one game remaining though Carrig have a game in hand.

It was level going down the home stretch, but Conor Flanagan was hugely influential in dragging his side over the line, including a late two-point free.

Paudie Kissane featured and raised a white flag.

In Division 3, leaders Bishopstown have the destiny of promotion in their own hands heading into the final day.

The city side came good at home to defeat Bandon 0-21 to 0-20. Captain Conor Dunne, as usual, led the scoring with 0-7, including two orange flags. Cork U20 footballer Harry Wixted kicked the winner in the closing stages.

Brian Cuthbert’s team have 12 points, one ahead of second-placed Kanturk, who also remain in control of their own fate. They edged out Newmarket 3-12 to 1-17. Ian Walsh top scored with 0-5, while Grantas Bucinskas, Liam O’Keeffe and Eoin O’Keeffe hit the goals in Kanturk.

Ray Keane’s Aghabullogue still have a chance of a second successive league promotion despite being held to a 0-11 apiece draw away to Kilshannig. The Muskerry side now sit on 10 points.

Naomh Abán still have a slim chance of going up. They are one point behind Aghabullogue after losing 1-16 to 0-13 to Mallow in Ballyvourney. Former Cork footballer and selector James Loughrey scored 1-2. Jack Dillon and Liam Walsh both hit 0-4, including a two-pointer each.

In Division 4, it’s incredibly tight. Buttevant are the outright leaders on 11 points, with Boherbue, Kilmurry and Glanmire tied on nine. Macroom, Nemo Rangers, Adrigole and Kiskeam sit just one point further back.

Kilmurry had a standout result as they chase a second successive league promotion. They defeated Glanmire in Sallybrook 1-17 to 2-10. Joe McGinn, Stephen O’Donoghue, Liam Wall and Ruadhán Ó Curraoin were among the point-scorers, while Denis O’Mullane struck the vital green flag.
