For the third season on the bounce, Coachford FC lifted the Mossie Linane Cup after a victory over Castleview in the final at the Mardyke over the weekend.
It was a final that won’t be remembered as it was pretty lacklustre throughout.
Aside from the final 20 minutes, Castleview were well in the contest throughout and unlucky not to have taken the laed when Jayden Meehan saw his effort cannon off the bar early on in the second half when it was scoreless.
Getting the nod for the man-of-the-match award was Matthew Bradley, who worked tirelessly in midfield throughout the action.

Coachford applied the early pressure as Luke Casey controlled near goal before scooping wide.
And when Stewart Murphy fired his effort wide from distance, Cialan O’Sullivan got by his marker, but from a tight angle, he failed to get his strike away with conviction.
The contest became a stalemate for a period of time as both sides struggled to get the upper-hand until Luke Casey worked off the shoulder of his marker before bearing down on goal to rifle an effort wide of the far post.
Then, Mark Murphy exchanged passes with Cialan O’Sullivan before narrowly clearing the bar with his effort.
Cialan O’Sullivan collected from Cathal O’Neill before seeing his cross touch off a defender as Matthew Bradley fired over from the loose ball.
Coachford did come close soon afterwards when Luke Casey found Cialan O’Sullivan available to his right and after taking a steadying touch, he rifled goalwards, only to see his effort cleared off the line by Wayne Buckley.
Coachford were starting to edge the contest now and from a cross, Cialan O’Sullivan saw his effort deflect off Ciaran Dennehy before going out for a corner.
Jack O’Sullivan got the second half away with an effort from distance that soared wide and when a clearance was knocked back for Jamie Mason, he rifled wide from the edge of the box.
Then, came the moment of real opportunity for Castleview – a delightful free kick from Stewart Murphy arrived for the unmarked Jayden Meehan in the box, but the woodwork came to Coachford’s rescue when his effort cannoned back off the bar before being cleared to safety.
Coachford settled well after that and when Cathal O’Neill’s free kick was headed wide by Mark Murphy, Luke Casey’s pass was headed on by Cialan O’Sullivan to the available Matthew Bradley who forced Ryan McCarthy to push out for a corner from his angled effort.
The game was crying out for a goal and it did arrive when from a corner, Pual Mullins rose to power his header home and hand Coachford the advantage in the 69th minute.
Coachford now looked the stronger of the two sides as the game approached the final quarter and doubled their advantage two minutes later when Luke Casey found the corner with a low effort.
And when Cialan O’Sullivan struck a decent effort over, a diagonal run from Luke Casey ended with the striker rifling over also from 25.
Then, Ryan McCarthy was in the right place to block a pile-driver from Casey before Mark Murphy headed into space for Casey who picked out Bradley to slot past Ryan McCarthy and make it 3-0 on 83.
Coachford were on top now and they could have had a fourth, but when Luke Casey found Diarmuid McCarthy free, he was denied by Ciaran Dennehy who knocked his effort out for a corner, shortly before the end.
