All square between Carrigtwohill and Blackrock in their Red FM Division 1 Hurling League clash on Thursday night.
In the end, it was probably a fair result after a highly entertaining game at Carrigtwohill. Both sides enjoyed their periods of dominance across the hour, with the wind playing its part, particularly in the first half.
For the visitors, David O’Farrell impressed in the middle of the pitch, along with the likes of Robbie Cotter and Peter Linehan up front. Carrigtwohill too can be happy with the workout with Sean Walsh leading their attack as always.
Playing with the wind Carrigtwohill took the lead just 30 seconds in when Sean Walsh scored.
They added a second, through Patrick Walsh, as the home side were quickest to settle.
With five minutes gone Robbie Cotter got the Rockies off the mark and Fionn Coleman added a second to see the sides level at 0-2 apiece.
Patrick and Sean Walsh were both on target again, with the latter adding another to put Carrigtwohill 0-5 to 0-2 up after 12 minutes.
Cian O’Riordan increased their lead, before they created the first goal chance. A great run from James Mulcahy saw him play the ball across but no one was there to get on the end of it.
However, Sean Walsh did point after he picked up the breaking ball, to make it 0-7 to 0-4 with 20 minutes played.

Cotter was on target for the Rockies, with Daniel Nolan replying before the visitors got the only goal of the tie.
A long ball in was caught by Cotter and he played the ball off. A few passes later and Ian O’Keeffe was clean through to find the back of the net to make it 0-10 to 1-5. Coleman added a point, before Patrick Walsh got his third of the half.
Carrigtwohill looked like getting a goal just before half-time when Cian O’Riordan played James Mulcahy in, but Gavin Connolly was quickly off his line to save superbly to deny him. Patrick Walsh pointed just before half time to see Carrigtwohill 0-12 to 1-6 up at the break.
Coleman and Peter Linehan scored early on for the Rockies after the restart with Twomey and Sean Brennan replying.
O’Farrell and O’Keeffe were on target for the visitors, with Sean Walsh replying, to make it 0-15 to 1-10 with 40 minutes gone.
Ciaran Cormack, and two from Daniel Meaney put the Rockies in front, before a Sean Walsh free had them level again.
Linehan was on target again, with Cillian Barry replying for the home side to see them level at 1-15 to 0-18 with time running out.
Barry and two Walsh frees were answered by two Cotter frees to see Carrigtwohill lead by 0-21 to 1-17 as the game went into injury time.
But a late Cotter point secured the draw for the Rockies, which was the fairest result on the night.
