Second division side ePower made it a winning start to their first live appearance on You Tube after Joshua Dempsey scored the only goal in their clash with Abbey Business at Mayfield Park last Saturday afternoon in the Grandon’s Toyota Shield – Group B tie.
Both teams played attractive in the opening half but the breakthrough goal eventually arrived in the 54th minute when Daragh Bagnell Harnett expertly rode a challenge in the centre before diving forwards and picking out Dempsey who bent his shot beyond the outstretched hand of Tim Connolly.

Arc scored twice in each half through Timothy Twomey (2), Tyrese Raheem and Paudie Cotter before Dean O’Sullivan netted a fine consolation for the home team in the 83rd minute.

The LAB kept their hopes alive of making it out of the group when they got the better of Cork Hospital in a best of five goal encounter.
After Matthew Ekhosuehi opened the scoring for the visitors, the Hospitals were dealt a hammer blow by having David Mullins dismissed two minutes later.
Jack O’Leary added a second on the quarter hour.
Collins Malakwen looked to have put the tie out of reach when he made in three-nil in the 64th minute.
However, a spirited response from the hosts yielded a brace from Tadgh Whelan inside a four minute spell.

Two teams who won by means of a penalty shoot-out the previous met at Mayfield Park last Sunday afternoon.
With the teams evenly matches for almost seventy minutes, a double sending off reduced ASH to nine.
Within three minutes Niall O’Brien edged the visitors in front only for the hosts to lose a third player by means of a red card offence along with one from OBS within eight minutes of the goal.

Despite conceding a 10th minute own goal and going on to trail four-nil at half-time through Gabriel Do Nascimento Wesley, Marcos Aurelio and Kaique Capecci, debutants Carrigaline Celtic continued to play with confidence.
With tiring legs giving way, Do Nascimento and Maicom Fernando Toscaro added late goals to the winner’s total.

The 2021 and 2023 finalists met at Mayfield Park last Sunday morning and after Harvey’s ‘ Tomás Sheehan and Doolan’s’ Greg Kelly exchanged first-half goals, goals from the experienced Aaron Hennessy and Tony O’Reilly sealed the five time winner’s safe passage through to the last sixteen.

Ballyphehane Celtic eased into the last sixteen following a comfortable win over Council. Four first-half goals from Aaron West, Craig Williams, Rob Lynam and Paul Mealy were followed by late strikes from Tadgh Shanahan and Christopher Bowen.

Holders Grangevale had to come from 3-1 down with twenty minutes remaining in their opening defence to take the tie to penalties at the end of the ninety.
Sean Holmes struck the opener from distance for the hosts in the 10th minute before Ken O’Brien turned inside two defenders to shoot low past Vale keeper Robert Osbourne for a second on the half hour.
Grangevale began the second 45 with intent and with a strong wind and diving rain forced a number of corners.
With twenty minutes remaining Billy Tabb reduced the deficit from a well placed free-kick only for Holmes to break the core of the Vale defence and restore his team’s two goal lead.
As the clock ticked down debutant striker Oleksandr Topolnytskyi was upended in the are for captain Dave Barrett to score from the resultant. Topolnytskyi was quickest to react when the ball came back off the post to equalize with six minutes remaining.
Osbourne’s save in the shoot-out proved decisive to enable the visitors to claim the two points at the finish.

Helio eased into the knockout stage courtesy of first-half goals from Javier Vidal Madrigal and Ivan Milicevic and two in the second from Sergio Cailla Castano and Euclides Costa against an improving Pfizer eleven at Leeside Park last Sunday night.

Valley Rangers and Dripsey Celtic couldn’t be separated at the end of the ninety after Tim Clancy’s 11th minute opener for Valley was cancelled out by Jamie Torpey in the 58th minute.
Valley prevailed in the shoot-out by the narrowest of margins.
