The Cork Garda Basketball blitz took place at Neptune Stadium recently.
Twelve boys primary schools took part in either the cup or shield competition. St Anthony’s, Scoil Iosagain, North Mon, Blarney St CBS, Beaumont, and Spioriod Naoimh, took part in the cup competition.

Scoil Mhuire agus Eoin, Upper Glanmire, Togher Boys, St Patrick’s, Beaumont Boys, and Blarney NS took part in the shield.

After a great morning's sport, Upper Glanmire met St Patrick’s in the final of the shield. In a great game, St Patrick’s emerged the winners and brought the trophy back to Gardiners Hill.

In a repeat of the 2025 final, St Anthony’s met Beaumont Boys in the final of the cup. In what was once again a very close and exciting game, St Anthony's emerged victorious.
A spokesperson said: “The organisers would like to thank Neptune Stadium, O’Reilly’s, Blackpool, and Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine for their continued and valued support. The competition, in its 12th year, could not have taken place without them.

“The teachers of all schools are also thanked, especially Deirdre Leen from St Anthony’s and Angus Gannon from Beaumont Boys, who have never missed a year attending our blitz. They are a wonderful example to their students.”
