Businesses across Cork city are asked to decorate their premises to support Cork City FC as they fly the flag in the Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup final on Sunday, November 9.

The club and the Cork Business Association are both urging businesses to get behind the Rebel Army as they take on Shamrock Rovers at the Aviva Stadium with a chance to win their fifth cup. City lifted the trophy for the first time in 1998, again in 2007 and back-to-back victories in 2016-'17. They also reached the decider in 1989, '92, 2005, 2015 and '18.

OUT IN FORCE

It's been a challenging campaign, with a chance of manager and relegation for the second time in three seasons, and Ger Nash's charges will be underdogs against league champions Shamrock Rovers. However, a huge contingent from Leeside is expected in the Aviva for the showpiece League of Ireland game.

There will be a prize for the best business and businesses are being asked to post a picture on social media of the business decorated in Cork City FC colours tagging Cork Business Association and Cork City FC including the hashtag #GoingGreen. The prize on offer to the winning business will be a 2026 Cork City FC home jersey signed by the squad.

Anthony O’Sullivan, commercial manager at Cork City FC said: "We are so proud of the team and management for reaching the FAI Cup final.

A lot of work has gone into reaching the final and we would love it if businesses in the city could show their support for the club by decorating their premises in the city colours of green, red and white.

"Whether it’s flying the Cork City FC flag, lighting up your building in the colours or hanging bunting – every gesture matters. I want to thank everyone for their support so far. We are looking forward to representing Cork in the Aviva very soon.”

Dave O'Brien, President of Cork Business Association, said: "We would like to do all we can to support the team on this massive achievement and we are calling on businesses in the city to deck out their shops and windows to show their support for the team. We would also like to wish the club and the players and the management team the very best of luck in the final and want them to know we are behind them all the way to the Aviva."
