Good weekend for the top sides in the U17 premier league as Douglas, Midleton and Corinthians all win

The Leeds U17 League 2 side

It was a good weekend for Douglas Hall, Midleton and College Corinthians, who all continued their recent good form in the Daly Industrial Supplies U17 Premier League and also for Macroom and Kilworth Celtic, who kept up their impressive performances in the U17 League 1A.

Douglas Hall were at home to St Mary’s at Moneygourney last Saturday and went ahead 1-0 in the ninth minute through Vilson Sefolli, however, Callum Murphy netted for the Saints just before half time to level the game 1-1.

The Hall retook the lead 2-1 when Macdarragh Lynch scored for them 11 minutes from the restart, but had to wait until the 89th minute when Sefolli scored his second goal of the game to see them win 3-1 and that result keeps them on top of the table on 19 points.

Midleton came to Leeds Park and they also claimed all three points with a very comprehensive 7-0 victory over the hosts Leeds.

The Magpies, who were tipped as title favourites at the start of the season, are only three points behind the Hall, but have a game in hand, had Ronan McKessy (2), Patrick Adedokun (2), Ryan Cremin, Eoin Garvey and Eouard Pidoyma all on the scoresheet to maintain their excellent form at the moment.

College Corinthians picked up their third win of the campaign with a hard fought 2-1 victory away to Youghal United at Ardath Park.

David Clarke gave Corinthians an early 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, however, Dominik Sadowski equalised for the home side in the 33rd minute. The city side regained the one goal advantage three minutes later when James Dorney-Deasy hit the back of the net for them and that was enough for them take the three point and see them move fourth in the League table.

Macroom and Kilworth can’t be separated on the top of the U17 League 1A as they too were very impressive as they put Kanturk and Carrigtwohill United to the sword on Saturday.

Macroom had an away fixture against Kanturk at Gurteenard, however, they had Liam McLaughlin, Didac Iranzo-Llorrens (2), Daniel Nunez-Lagos and Donagh Moss all in lethal in front of goal to come away with a five nil victory.

Kilworth Celtic welcomed Carrigtwohill United to Sheila Flynn Park and showed them no mercy as they too much firepower with Danyl Pierce hitting a hat-trick, Conor Lynch netting twice, and Darragh Cooney and Ryan Whealan also getting on the scoresheet to win 7-0 to maintain their unbeaten record.

Innishvilla still haven’t dropped any points in the U17 League 2 and won their fifth game in a row with a 2-0 victory against Douglas Hall at the Jake O’Donoghue Park also on Saturday evening.

Ben Mulhall put the Villa in front 1-0 in the 28th minute and Aaron Broderick doubled their lead 2-0 in the 37th minute and that was enough to see them take all three points.
