Barbers brushed aside by impressive Harvey’s in CBL

MARTIN HARVEY SOLICITORS reserved their best performance of the season to climb out of the bottom two on goal difference in the Grandon’s Toyota Premier Division league following their impressive 5-2 win over Jay Bazz Barbers at Mayfield Park last Sunday morning.
Adam Hegarty’s first minute opener for the Barbers was cancelled out by Jake Hawkins and Tomás Sheehan before Brandon Downey restored parity from a first-half added time penalty.
However, the dominant visitors replied with further goals from Sheehan and Hawkins in the second 45 followed by a fifth from Aaron Cooney in the 76th minute.

Doolan’s Cow moved to within two wins of a sixth title in nine seasons after a hard fought win over rock bottom Longboats at Mayfield Community School.
Aaron Hennessy’s 22nd minute lead goal lasted almost forty minutes when Longboats’ Ian Tobin levelled for the visitors on the hour.
After Hennessy again restored the host’s lead four minutes later, Kevin Dullea but the cat among the pigeons with a second equalizer with twelve minutes remaining.
But, within two minutes the division’s leading scorerTony O’Reilly struck what would prove to be the winner for the happy Cow.

Here’s Health catapulted themselves to pole position in the table after a crucial win over fancied ISF Ballyphehane Celtic at Mayfield Community School last Sunday morning.
Ken O’Brien shot the hosts in front in the 25th minute only for Jamie Thompson to force an equalizer in first-half added time.
Rob Twomey put Celtic in front for the first time in the 57th minute only for Jack Murphy to level and talisman Callan Dempsey to pop up with the crucial winner in the 85th minute.

The LAB are right in the mix for promotion after a fine win over Council at Mayfield Community School.
Two goals inside the opening six minutes from Matthew Ekhosuehi and Jordan O’Keeffe settled the hosts and after Ekhosuehi added his second of the night in the 49th minute, the destination of the points was never in doubt.
The Weigh Inn Dripsey 3 DCT FC 0; Dripsey followed the previous weekend’s match-of-the-week win over Co. Council by scoring three unanswered second-half goals courtesy of Ciaran Pittorino (2) and Evan Lynch.

Stryker had too much for MSL at Mayfield Community School going four up through former DHF Grangevale striker Ross Kiely (2), Gavin Tackaberry and Darren Sheehan.
After John Martin Lehane pulled one back for MSL, Jack Walsh and Sean Cassidy completed the scoring for Macroom.

In a tight contest Arc advanced to the third round after Paudie Cotter fired in the decisive kick in the shoot-out to add to those converted by Tyrese Raheem, Gregg Harrington and Brian Kelly.

In the all CBL novel pairing at Conna, Valley made it two wins in the competition after taking a 53rd minute lead through Ivan Ohrin.
Within six minutes Finn Crowley equalized for the visitors only for hosts to quickly regain control though Kevin Kelleher and sub Ben O’Connor. Tom Hartnett went on to net a fourth in the 72nd minute.

Early goals from Sergio Lopez Martin and Javier Madrigal Vidal inside the opening ten minutes were the launch pad for Helio Inter Cork’s win over Cork AUL opponents Shandon Celtic at Popham’s Field.
Cian O’Driscoll's 37th minute response for Celtic kept the result in doubt right up till the final whistle as both teams played excellent football throughout the ninety minutes.

DHF Grangevale came unstuck for the second season in-a-row against West Cork opposition when they went two behind inside four minutes to goals from the impressive Robbie McQueen and veteran goal poacher Barry H O’Driscoll.
John Barry set up Billy Tabb for a quick Vale reply in the 34th minute only for Thomas McQueen and O’Driscoll to extend the host’s lead inside the 58th and 62nd minutes.
The visitors got back into the tie through Niall Fitzgerald with ten minutes remaining and forced Jack Murphy Payne into making an excellent save to preserve his team’s two goal advantage at Canon Crowley Park.
