Cork Youth league action returns this weekend

Youth Soccer: The Leeds team who play Midleton in the Daly Industrial Supplies U18 Premier League on Sunday afternoon in Knockgriffin.

After two weeks of cup action, most of the clubs are back in Cork Youth League action this weekend.

There are two games in the U17 Gussie Walsh Cup and one in the U18 League Cup.

We start with the Gussie Walsh cup games and tomorrow morning at 10.30am Avondale United play College Corinthians at Avondale Park and in the afternoon Passage welcome Midleton to Rockenham Park at 2pm.

They are three Daly Industrial Supplies U17 Premier games down for decision, Douglas Hall who sit on top of the table with 12 points from their four games travel to Knockgriffin to play the hosts Midleton and the Magpies are also unbeaten, but have only two games played.

Leeds have a home fixture against Kinsale at Leeds Park at 11am and St Mary’s must make the trip to Ballea Park to play Carrigaline United at 7pm.

The Saints are going through a sticky patch at the moment losing their last four games and one of them was when they crashed out of the Gussie Walsh cup last weekend to League 1 side Mallow United, so they will be looking to get back on track tomorrow night.

In the U17 League 1, leaders Fermoy have to travel to St Mary’s pitch to play third place Mallow United and with Mallow having a fine victory in the Gussie Walsh cup last Saturday they should come in to this game with plenty of confidence.

Elsewhere, in the same Division Blarney United entertain Carrigaline United at O’Shea Park at 4.30pm and Leeside have an away fixture at 7pm against Springfield Ramblers at the Steven Ireland Astro.

Youth Soccer: U17 League 3 leaders Wilton United who will welcome new side Ballybridge to Pat Bowdren Park.

Leeside United are also riding high in the U17 League 1A winning their two League games to date and they will be looking to take maximum points when they welcome Macroom to Leeside Park at 7pm, while Carrigtwohill United lock horns with Fermoy at Ballyadam and Kilworth welcom Midleton to Sheila Flynn Park both games with a 2pm kickoff.

Another side who are flying high are Wilton United and sit on top of the U17 League 3 table on seven points after three games and they will be looking to extend their winning streak when they play new side Ballybridge to Pat Bowden Park tomorrow morning at 10.30.

Watergrasshill United are also unbeaten and are in second place have an away fixture against Strand at Ballyanley at 2pm.

There is only one U19 League 1A fixture where Riverstown entertain League leaders Carrigaline United at the GACA with a 11am kickoff.

On Sunday Mallow Town who sit on top of the U18 League 1A with three wins out of three have an U18 League cup tie against Premier League side Lakewood Athletic at the Cork Racecourse at 2pm.

They are four U18 Premier League fixtures also on Sunday with title favourites Leeside clashing with Avondale at Leeside Park at 7pm and sit on top of the table on 13 points after five games.

Elsewhere, second place Carrigaline United must travel to Carrig Park to play the hosts Fermoy and they will fancy their chances to stay unbeaten and keep tabs on Leeside.

While newly-promoted Leeds have a tough test when travel to Knockgriffin to face Midleton and Carrigaline United A play Douglas Hall at Ballea Park at 2.30pm.
