Éire Óg edge out Glen Rovers to set up Cork camogie semi-final with St Catherine's

Éire Óg booked their place in the semi-finals of the SE Systems Cork Senior Camogie Championship, where they will meet Blackrock, as they defeated Glen Rovers at Castle Road.
This game went down to the wire with the scoreline reading 1-13 to 1-12 in favour of Glen Rovers. With time running out, Isobel Sheehan set up Emily McGrath for Éire Óg’s second goal, which put the Muskerry side in the driving seat.
Emma Murphy replied with a point from play for the Blackpool side, which left a single point between the sides. Clara Murphy pointed a free, three minutes into stoppage time for the winners.

This game was dictated by the wind, where scoring opportunities for Éire Óg were at a premium, while the second half was more open for both sides. Glen Rovers outscored the Muskerry side by 11 points to 1-5 in the second half.
The Blackpool side made the better start as Emma Murphy slotted over a pointed free in the game’s opening minute. Glen Rovers continued to have Éire Óg pinned back as Emma Murphy sent Katie Walsh on a solo run to score the game’s opening goal and give the Blackpool side a four-point advantage.
Éire Óg began to get to grips with the game as persistent fouling was proving to be Glen Rovers' undoing. Clara Murphy converted two frees to reduce the deficit to two points.
Clara Murphy slotted over Éire Óg’s first point from play, and Walsh replied for the Blackpool side, before the Mid Cork side began to seize the initiative. Roisín Murphy and Clara Murphy each tagged on points from play. Clara Murphy also converted two frees as Éire Óg led by 0-7 to 1-2.
Walsh responded with her second point from play to leave the minimum between the sides, but this was cancelled out, as Clara Murphy added a point from play for the Muskerry side.
Wayward shooting was proving to be Glen Rovers’ undoing in this period, but at the other end, their net-minder Denise Luby was pulling off some spectacular saves. The Blackpool side’s puck-outs were also going astray, but Éire Óg’s shots drifted wide of the posts.
Six minutes into stoppage time, Clara Murphy drilled home a goal from a free to give Éire Óg an interval lead of 1-8 to 1-3.

With the elements in Glen Rovers’ favour for the second half, Emma Murphy tagged on a point within seconds of the restart. Clara Murphy pointed a free, before Éire Óg found themselves on the back foot. Emma Murphy tagged on a hat-trick of points, including a free and Sophie O’Sullivan also scored a point to leave the minimum between the sides.

Persistent fouling was proving to be Éire Óg’s undoing as Emma Murphy converted three unanswered frees for the Blackpool side and she also added a point from play.
In the 57th minute, with Glen Rovers leading 1-13 to 1-11, Clara Murphy tagged on a point from play for the Muskerry side to leave the minimum between the sides, before the scene was set for a dramatic finalé.
