IAFC reports:

IAFC – quarter-finals: Gabriel Rangers v Ballinora, Ilen Rovers v Mitchelstown.

Semi-finals: Adrigole v Ilen Rovers/Mitchelstown, Kilmurry v Gabriel Rangers/Ballinora.

Relegation play-off: Dromtarriffe v St Vincent's.

Beaten semi-finalists in the last two seasons, Adrigole, have once more reached that stage as they look to go one better.

On the final day of the group matches on Saturday, the Beara side were always on top against Ballinora in this Group 1 match. They were the only team to win all three group matches at this grade underlining the competitiveness.

Tim O’Sullivan’s team were already qualified prior to the game, but made sure of a direct route to the last four with a 2-14 to 1-10 win.

Charlie and Ben O’Sullivan were the highest point scorers with 0-3 each while Connie O’Shea and Neil O’Sullivan bagged a goal apiece.

Robert Quirke was Ballinora’s main threat with 1-3 as they now take on Gabriel Rangers at the quarter-final juncture.

St Finbarr’s second team finished their championship campaign on a high with a deserved 0-15 to 2-6 win over Glanworth.

Youngster Cian O’Sullivan shot 0-5 for the Togher side. 2010 All-Ireland winner Michael Shields kicked 0-2. Experienced campaigner David Pyne ended up with 2-5 for Glanworth.

In Group 2, Cork footballer Cathail O’Mahony inspired Mitchelstown to a local derby win over Kildorrery.

In what was a winner-takes-all tie, O’Mahony scored 1-6 as the Town won 3-13 to 0-9.

Gabriel Rangers finished top after having too much for Dromtarriffe on a scoreline of 0-20 to 1-10.

Seán Kelleher and Mark Cronin were influential players for the West Cork team. Kelleher scored 0-6 and club chairman Cronin totted up 0-4. While Gabriel Rangers were in control for the majority, special mention must go to goalkeeper Liam Hegarty who made a few tidy saves.

Dromtarriffe head for the relegation play-off against St Vincent’s.

Kilmurry have real momentum behind them. The Muskerry men won the Premier JFC last year and have finished top of Group 3 in the grade above.

Brian Harte’s charges have taken the direct passage into the semi-finals after a 2-11 to 0-9 win over Boherbue. Rory Duggan’s 1-2 went a long way to getting the two points that was on offer. Defender William Ronan was an unlikely goal scorer.

Last year’s beaten finalists Boherbue make an early exit from the championship.

After suffering back-to-back championship relegations, Ilen Rovers have stopped the slide. They are into the knockout stages of the fourth-tier after a comfortable 1-14 to 1-5 success over St Vincent’s.

Adrian O’Driscoll was once again the main scorer-in-chief with 0-5. Dan MacEoin clipped over 0-4. Barry Collins bagged the goal.

They will relish taking on Mitchelstown in two weeks’ time after a challenging few years worrying about demotion.

St Vincent’s are in the relegation play-off for the second year on the trot. They must improve if they want to beat Dromtarriffe and avoid dropping down to the Premier Junior ranks.
