The conclusion of the second round of the Cork club hurling championships brought plenty of changes among the scoring charts from play across the top three grades. There were lead changes at both Senior A and Premier Intermediate, while only five players from the first round remain in the updated table for the latter.
We’ll start with Premier Senior, which saw the least movement. The top two remain unchanged – Stephen Condon still four points in front of nearest challenger Matthew Bradley, although you can expect Condon to be displaced after the final round, given Avondhu’s elimination from the championship.
Of the club teams that were in action last weekend, Jack O’Connor leads the way after two rounds.
Blackrock’s Michael O’Halloran moves up to fourth after his two goals against St Finbarr’s, while Avondhu’s Colin O’Brien remains tied with him, the two having 12 points in total.
There’s another tie behind those two, with Douglas’ Shane Kingston and James Sweeney sharing sixth spot after having scored a total of nine from play each.

Cian Darcy is eighth and the third man from the Riverstown club to feature in the top 10, with Darragh Fitzgibbon and William Buckley creating another tie tied, after all three finished the second round with a total of eight from play.
Anthony Spillane’s remarkable haul of 4-4 against Ballyhea sees him shoot up from tenth to first, while James Mulcahy of Carrigtwohill and Bride Rovers’ Brian Roche remain second and third after another weekend of solid contributions for their clubs.
Blarney’s Cathal McCarthy moves up to fourth after scoring 2-3 against Watergrasshill, with Courcey Rovers’ Daniel O’Connell just behind after increasing his haul to 2-5 in their defeat to Bride Rovers. The Rathcormac outfit saw Conleith Ryan creep into the top 10 after his goals, and he shares sixth spot with Watergrasshill Seán Desmond share sixth spot.
Na Piarsaigh’s Daire Connery lies eighth, marginally ahead of Patrick Walsh and Mark Coleman who complete the top 10.
After an outstanding performance against Valley Rovers, Dungourney’s Cillian O’Callaghan climbs to first, his haul of 3-1 the highest of any PIHC player so far.
Clubmate Jack Leahy occupies second with 0-9 from play, while John Ahern’s 1-5 from play leaves him tied third and gives Dungourney three representatives in the top 10 of the from play chart.

Joining Ahern at joint third are Éire Óg’s Johnny Galvin and Mallow’s Pa Herlihy, all three having accumulated 1-5 so far.
Ballinhassig’s Evan Cullinane falls from first to seventh, and now resides in a four-way tie with Éanna Desmond of Carrigaline, Mallow’s Paul Lyons and Lisgoold’s Mark Hegarty.
Kilworth’s Eoin Carey completes the top 10, with 0-6 from play.
